Desert Wind Merlot

The ‘Heritage Series’ Merlot is sourced from some of the best vines Desert Wind Vineyard has to offer. The grapes are fermented in open top bins with twice daily punch-downs to carefully extract color, flavor, and tannins. The wine is then pressed and aged in barrels, with a mix of French and neutral oak, for a total of 16 months. Syrah and Malbec were added to provice bold fruit flavor and complexity. The resulting wine is well structured with moderate acidity and flavors of cherry, cassis, vanilla, and espresso.
