The Fat Barrel wine project was founded by Bob Lynde in 1994 after a trip to South Africa opened his eyes to a 350 year old winemaking culture. He fell in love with the land, as the Western Cape is one of the most significant bio-dynamic plant kingdoms in the world. Not only are the wines stellar, but the brand generates awareness about the bounty and beauty of South Africa, while acknowledging the humanitarian challenges and raising funds to combat those challenges. 10% of Bob’s sales benefits organizations working to help those with less, as he believes that socially conscious initiatives in for-profit companies foster positive change.
