It's not for me, but I can appreciate the effort.
It took me awhile to get into scotch, but now that I think I have the palate for it, I decided to give Oban a shot. It's definitely a scotch, that's for sure. There's that initial burn provided by the smooth aftertaste that a good scotch has - but the flavor itself is actually kind of lacking in the initial sip. There's some sugaring here that I can't quite get into. That being said, a lot of my friends enjoy this - so at the very least, pick a bottle up and see if you like it. If not, it's a great way to have a bottle laying around for when your friends get together and want to try a scotch.
