The Scapa 16 year old is an extremely elegant dram that is very easy to enjoy. Very silky on your palate with lovely warm honey notes, the richness of custard and a deep maltiness fills your mouth. Scapa is unique for an island whisky in that its malted barley is entirely unpeated. It gets its subtle smoky notes from the water, which is peaty at the source. Scapa is situated on the Lingro Burn and like all "coastal" or island whiskies, its aroma and flavor profile develops a briny quality as the whisky interacts with the salty sea air during maturation.
