Well priced accesible mixing rum
Bacardi gold is decent, it's really not that awful but it's definitely not a rum to drink neat or on the rocks but it is really great with a mixer. It is a little harsher than some other spiced rum brands but its just as good as captain so it goes nicely with soda or seltzer or in a cocktail. It's really well priced and available just about everywhere.
A first class rum that I always prefer
Bacardi Gold rum is par excellent in taste and looks. Price absolutely matches the product and I never have a complaint. It's great for mixers and taste is at par with other high class rum.

Boring
Good old Bacardi Gold is a good, cheap mixer but nothing to drink straight. The silver might be a bit better. Cruzan is a dollar less and much better (good enough to drink straight)
Gets the Job Done but Not the Best
Solid rum that will get the job done and will get you efficiently drunk. However I found this very regular tasting. There is nothing extravagant about its taste as it is very bland and plain. Nothing special about it but it still goes down relatively smooth

This drink is alright by itself, but the reason everyone should buy is for rum and coke. Adding lime makes it even better too.

not something i like to take for shots, thats just me but mixed with cola, I call it a slow sipper all night. you cant go wronf.
